Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and Nouns DAO Team Up To Fund Animated Shorts
Calling all animators, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, home of Robot Chicken and Crossing Swords, has teamed up with web3 community NOUNS DAO to fund animators to make fifteen second shorts as part of the upcoming Nouns Short Shorts festival celebrating the art of animation and NOUNS NFT’s.
The festival will feature original shorts from artists curated by a team that includes Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Pixel Studios, and former Adult Swim SVP Walter Newman. Additional animators will be selected through a public contest held on Nouns Prop House. Anyone can enter, all you need is an idea, an artist portfolio, and an Ethereum wallet.
There are three simple Short Short rules:
The Short Short must be funny.
The Short Short must be at least 15 seconds.
The Short Short must feature at least one Noun character.
Selected artists get paid US$7500 upfront, have full creative control, and can choose to either retain ownership of their IP entirely or release their videos into the public domain via a CC0 license.
The first 6 artists have already been hand-picked and are currently animating their Short Shorts.
There is more! For artists who release their Short Short under a CC0 license, the NOUNS Festival team has set aside $20,000 in extra prizes for a variety of categories, including fan favorite and a jury award for best picture.
Artists not selected and funded through Prop House can submit their original shorts to the festival to have a shot at competing for the prizes.
Nouns Short Shorts Festival
Selected shorts will premiere exclusively at the Nouns Short Shorts Film Festival, an online extravaganza happening in June 2023, and thereafter on the individual artists social channels. More details to come!

Nouns DAO
Nouns DAO is an experimental attempt to fund a community-owned brand with Ethereum NFT sales. One Noun, every day, forever. The proceeds are sent to a community treasury, which is used to fund Nounish projects, do good in the world, and further proliferate the meme of Nouns.
The code is open source, the art public domain via a CC0 license. Anyone is able to take the Nouns brand and create whatever they want, often with the support of the treasury. Nouns DAO has named a species of frog, funded thousands of prescription glasses, donated hundreds of skateboards, and funded a float in the 2023 Rose Parade.
